PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair detergent having a good foaming property with a fine foam quality having a good slidability even under an environment at a low temperature in a winter season, a smooth feeling on rinsing and also a good low temperature stability. SOLUTION: This aqueous hair detergent contains a 5 to 30 mass% alkyl ether sulfate expressed by general formula (1), or contains the 5 to 30 mass% mixture of an alkyl ether sulfate expressed by general formula (1-1) and an alkyl sulfate expressed by general formula (2), and having the <1 mean added number of moles of PO in the mixture. RO-(PO)<SB>n</SB>SO<SB>3</SB>M (1), RO-(PO)<SB>m</SB>-SO<SB>3</SB>M (1-1), RO-SO<SB>3</SB>M (2) [wherein, R is an alkyl having the 8 to 24 mean number of carbon atoms; PO is a propyleneoxy group; (n) is the 0<n<1 range mean added number of moles of the PO; (m) is the≥1 mean added number of moles of the PO; and M is a cation].
