<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an eucalyptus extract, by which an ingredient effective as a physiologically active substance is obtained in a high purity and in a high yield, while reducing the smell inherent in eucalyptus. <P>SOLUTION: The method for preparing the eucalyptus extract comprises removing an essential oil ingredient from an Eucalyptus plant, extracting the residues with water or an organic solvent aqueous solution, and further extracting the obtained extraction residues with an organic solvent aqueous solution or an organic solvent, thereby preparing the extract containing physiologically active substances, macrocarpal A, B and C, contained in eucalyptus in higher contents than those by conventional extraction methods, and having good taste, appearance and physical properties. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
