The tube i.e. support rod tube (10), has a steel band (18) arranged coaxial to a steel band (11) in a sandwich type. An inner layer of the steel band (11) is formed from high-strength steel. An outer layer of the steel band (18) is formed from stainless steel. The steel bands include different wall thicknesses. End regions (19, 20) of the band (18) are provided around respective end regions (12, 13) of the band (11). A gap is formed between the end regions of the bands. The end regions are connected with each other by a weld joint (21). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a holding-and guiding tube.
