PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulator making an exchange heat quantity variable, and an environmental testing device capable of preventing an excessive load from being applied to a heater and a cooler. SOLUTION: A driving shaft 54 is attached to a heat accumulating plate 51 positioned in one end out of the heat accumulating plates 51-53 opposedly arranged to each other. The driving shaft 54 is movable along an opposed direction of the heat accumulating plates 51-53. The fellow heat accumulating plates 51, 52 opposed each other are connected by a stopper 55, and the fellow heat accumulating plates 52, 53 are connected by a stopper 56. The heat accumulating plates 51-53 can take a separate state (Fig.2(a)) opposed with a prescribed space, and a contact state (Fig.2(b)) with fellow opposed faces contacting each other, by driving the driving shaft 54.
