摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prohibit the operation of a microcomputer from stopping by protecting the electric source even when the operation temperature rises beyond a rating temperature at the time of airbag activation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air bag control device develops an airbag by passing electric current to a squib 5 through a control circuit 10, when microcomputers 1 and 2 detect the output of acceleration sensors 3 and 4 due to the impact. The device is provided in the control circuit with a step-down electric source 15 that steps down a voltage from a battery mounted on the vehicle and supplies to the microcomputers, and an overheat detecting circuit 16 that stops the operation of the step down electric source when overheat of the control circuit is detected. Meanwhile, current carrying operation to the squib 5 is being detected in the control circuit, and if detected, the operation of the step down electric source 15 is prohibited from stopping, by disabling the operation of the overheat detecting circuit 16, or by changing the threshold value by which the overheat detecting circuit 16 determines the overheat.
