<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a food using bread such as a rusk ensuring a crispy texture and a nice smell, and further hardly causing cracks as a material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The material composed of the bread, having a ≥8.0 to ≤12.0 mm thickness, a brown outer layer 1 only in an outer periphery, and a part in which the outer layer 1 is partially removed by a straight line A and an inner layer 2 is exposed to the outer periphery is prepared.
