<p>Cardboard is cut to shape by a machine as a first step in the making of cartons. In order to remove the unwanted pieces which are cut out of the main sheet the cardboard (22) is passed over a conveyor consisting of two parallel belts (14), so that the portion (23) to be removed travels between the belts. The cardboard is pressed onto the conveyor belts by a second belt (3) with attached rubber pads (17). A cam (13) mounted underneath the upper part of the belt is rotated so that it pushes the belt upwards and allows the rubber pad to push the unwanted piece of cardboard downwards.</p> |
