<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily improving efficiency, reducing power consumption for aeration, and reducing the amount of discharged carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide by a simple-structured apparatus in a method for promoting decomposition reaction of an organic matter by using photosynthetic microorganisms when treating domestic wastewater or industrial wastewater with activated sludge. <P>SOLUTION: In a wastewater treatment method comprising the process of decomposing organic matter in wastewater in a biological oxidation tank by microorganisms contained in sludge, a biounit formed by holding a photosynthetic microorganism layer carried on the outer side surface of a closed-end cylindrical hollow body made of a translucent material, and having a porous film covering the microorganism layer is disposed in the biological oxidation tank so that the upper edge of the biounit projects above the water surface, and photosynthetic reaction is carried out while making light enter from above the biounit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
