<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly external input system for an on-vehicle instrument and a housing device for an external input device. <P>SOLUTION: The external input device (11) allowing an input operation to the on-vehicle instrument (20) from a position apart from the on-vehicle instrument (20) within the vehicle wherein the on-vehicle instrument is installed comprises a locking means (12) that locks the external input device (11) so that the use of the external input device (11) is prohibited during the travel of the vehicle, and an unlocking means (13) capable of unlocking the locked state by the locking means during the travel, the unlocking means being positioned at positions operable from seats (2, 3, 4) other than the driver's seat (1) within the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
