PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament having good mechanical strength and extension, made of a polymer capable of being polymerized to high molecular weight by melt polymerization while having low water absorptivity, and having a wide formable temperature range estimated from the difference between the melting point and the thermal decomposition temperature, and excellent melt moldability, and having excellent chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance. SOLUTION: The filament contains a polyamide resin in which the dicarboxylic acid component comprises oxalic acid and the diamine component comprises 1,9-nonanediamine and 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine, wherein the molar ratio of the 1,9-nonanediamine to the 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine is within the range of from 1:99 to 99:1.
