CAMERA SYSTEM AND RECORDER

Provided are a camera system and a recorder, wherein versions of software programs of connected apparatuses can be simply unified to reduce the number of steps required for the version upgrade.  A recorder (24) inquires connected apparatuses such as registered network cameras (11, 12) and decoders (20, 22) about versions of a firmware through a network control unit (241), judges through a calculation unit (242) whether the versions are of the latest, acquires through the network control unit (241) the latest firmware from the connected apparatus having the latest version installed therein, and records the same on an HDD (245) through a writing-in and reading-in unit (244).  Further, the latest firmware is transferred from the network control unit (241) to the connected apparatuses with old versions, thereby carrying out the version upgrade.
