PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) for treating or preventing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and asthma is provided to ensure same effect with intravenous infusion or subcontaneous administration. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and asthma contains basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) as an active ingredient. A daily dose of the bFGF is 0.015~600ng. When the composition is liquid and the composition is transferred to lung through nebulizer. When the composition is suspension, the composition is transferred to lung through a metered dose inhaler. When the composition is dried powder, the composition is delivered to lung through dried powder inhaler.
