PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable power generator that effectively uses energy output from an engine to thereby improve the efficiency of power generation. SOLUTION: The portable power generator 40 includes an engine 41, a compressor 42 driven with the engine 41 to supply compressed air, a vortex tube 20 connected to the compressor 42 for producing cooling air by the kinetic energy of the compressed air supplied from the compressor, and a power generating unit 43 having thermal power generation elements 10, 10, as a power generating component, connected to the vortex tube 20 and the engine 41 for generating electricity by the difference in temperature.
