<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly read line patterns. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A test pattern forming part makes an inkjet head print a plurality of the line patterns 71 which extend in a paper conveyance direction with respect to each delivering opening. Two line patterns 71 are formed to be adjacent to each other with respect to the paper conveyance direction and at different positions from each other with respect to a main scanning direction. An illumination controlling circuit makes an LED array illuminate a partial pattern 71b only for a period while an image sensor reads the partial pattern 71b in a charge storage period T1.
