PURPOSE: A car navigation system and a method for guiding a path are provided to make a driver recognize additional information by providing the additional information with the widget type implemented with the flash. CONSTITUTION: A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver receives position information. A storage(140) stores the received position information and at least one additional information. A controller(130) searches and guides the traveling path by referring to the received position information. The controller converts the additional information to the widget type and displays the converted information. The widget is controlled to display and emphasize the additional information according to the priority. A display unit(150) displays the searched path and the additional information widget. An input unit receives the priority set signal inputted by a user.
