PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential refractometer being a Blyth type differential refractometer of a single pulse system easy to adjust a position or angle, capable of removing the effect of the parallel movement of irradiation light even if the refractive index of a solvent is changed by the variation of pressure or temperature and having a wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: A convex lens is provided in close vicinity to a flow cell on the side of the position detecting optical sensor of the flow cell and the position detecting optical sensor comprising a plurality of divided light detecting surfaces is provided at the focal position of the convex lens. Further, the position detecting optical sensor is installed in a state that the axial direction of the gap between the elements possessed by the sensor is rotated with respect to the height direction of the flow cell.
