<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for precisely, efficiently and automatically measuring the sagging being the reduced wall thickness caused by the insufficiency of the ring corner part of a ringlike material due to forging or rolling or the impact flaw or pit flaw of a ring surface to determine the acceptance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A laser displacement meter 6 is installed on the upper part of the circumference of a circle of the ringlike material and the ring end part or ring peripheral surface part of the ringlike material 2 using the ring center as a rotary axis to rotate is set as a measuring region to project the laser projection beam 7 on the measuring region from the laser displacement meter 6. The reflected light 8 reflected from the measuring region of the ringlike material 2 is detected to detect the sagging 10 caused by the reduced wall thickness of the ring end part or the defect caused by the flaw such as the impact flaw or pit flaw of the ring peripheral surface and the degree of the defect by the displacement quantity of the detection quantity of the reflected light, thereby excluding the bearing inner and outer races of a defective product 12.
