<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a metal alkoxide at a significantly lower cost than ever. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a metal alkoxide comprises the following process: The metal constituting the to-be-produced metal alkoxide, in such a condition as to deteriorate an oxidized film on the surface of the metal or to inhibit formation of the oxidized film, is heated in an alcohol which exhibits the standard electrode potential or half-wave potential of the cathode internal polarization curve nobler than that of the anode internal polarization curve of the metal.
