PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode wire for electrical discharge machining can perform micro-discharge machining and manufacturable at low cost. SOLUTION: This electrode wire includes a cross section surrounded by a first flat surface 3 and a second flat surface which are opposed to each other, a first projecting curved surface 5 connected to one of the first flat surface 3 and the second flat surface 4 and projecting outward, and a second projecting curved surface 6 connected to the other of the first flat surface 3 and the second flat surface 4 and projecting outward.
