PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a 4-color management tool of quality acquirable on the market, such as the Xerox's CTK (color tool kit) or the other digital front end (DFE) color management tool, immediately but efficiently for new color management while taking into account availability of these existing tools. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a system for 4+ (five or more) color management outputting 4+ color separation signals to a 4+ color print engine, including: a 4-color management unit that converts an input source color into actual intermediate CMYK separation signals; and a 4+ color conversion unit, inside the color management system, for receiving the actual intermediate CMYK separation signals as inputs and outputting at least five output color separation signals for reception by the 4+ color print engine.
