PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of suppressing the viewing of a program from being disturbed as much as possible, and notifying a user about presence of contents so as not to miss an opportunity of printing or acquiring, and to provide a control method of the digital broadcast receiver. SOLUTION: A notification timing determination section 302 determines a notification time T1 and acquires the present time from a timer section 243. Thereafter, it is determined whether the present time reaches the notification time T1. In a case where it is determined as a result of the determination that the present time reaches the notification time T1, a UI screen constitution section 211 performs message display processing for notifying a user (viewer) about presence of print contents in a program.
