<p>The apparatus and method assist a golfer playing in a golf course. A current position of the apparatus is calculated from received GPS/GNSS signals, and a current course layout is selected from the course layout information stored in a memory based on the current position. Arcs are calculated from the current position and the flying distance information stored in the memory, each arc representing an estimated flying distance of a respective golf club from the current position. A current orientation of the apparatus is determined from detection signals of the sensor module. A directional line originating from the current position and representing the current orientation of the apparatus is calculated. The selected course layout, the current position, the arcs, and the directional line are displayed. Each intersection of the directional line with the arcs indicates an expected ball position after a shot with the corresponding golf club.</p> |
