<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immobilizer receiving apparatus of an outboard motor that is easily mounted onto a hull and that ensures receiving capability. <P>SOLUTION: A housing 12 of an enclosure 11 stores therein a control unit 20 that is stored in a fluid-tight casing and that receives an authentication code, an antenna cable 24 for receiving the authentication code, and an answer-back buzzer 21 for informing of the receipt of the authentication code. A distance between an opening face 13 and a bottom face 14 of the housing 12 of the enclosure 11 is defined so that the antenna cable 24 can receive the authentication code even when the hull is metallic, and the opening face 13 of the enclosure 11 is mounted onto a vertical or substantially vertical face of the hull to ensure the receiving capability of the antenna cable 24 that is stored along the bottom face of the housing 12.
