<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the precision of retrieval of a similar video even when part of a video frame included in a video to be compared is edited. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An accumulated feature extraction part 1 makes settings in order while shifting a focused window for an accumulated video and extracts an accumulated feature, which is an amount of feature representing a section of the accumulated video within the focused window, for each focused window. A reference feature extraction part 2 makes settings in order while shifting the focused window for a reference video and extracts a reference feature, which is an amount of feature representing a section of the reference video within the focused window, for each focused window. A feature collation part 3 calculates a feature distance, which is a distance between the accumulated feature and the reference feature, for each combination of the accumulated feature extracted by the accumulated feature extraction part 1 and the reference feature extracted by the reference feature extraction part 2. A video section detection/determination part 4 compares the feature distance calculated by the feature collation part 3 with a search threshold, which is a threshold value given in advance, and determines whether or not the section of the reference video exists in the section of the accumulated video.
