PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a nanocrystalline nanoporous transition metal oxide is provided to improve thermal stability and to increase the specific surface area. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a nanoporous transition metal oxide comprises the steps of preparing a homogeneous hybrid comprising a carbon molecule precursor, an amphiphilic organic polymer, and a transition metal precursor in a suitable solvent; evaporating the solvent from the hybrid; drying the obtained product; thermally decomposing the obtained product under the inert gas atmosphere or the vacuum condition; and sintering the obtained product. The transition metal is selected from the group consisting of Ce, Zr, Al, Y, Ti, Fe, Nb, Ta, W, Sn, Hf, Co and their combination.
