LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve the moving picture response time without adding a memory by modulating data with an overdrive ratio above 20%. CONSTITUTION: A timing controller(TCON) supplies data to a data driving circuit and controls a data driving circuit and a gate driving circuit. An overdrive controller(ODCCON) modulates the data with the overdrive ratio of 20 to 80% and outputs the modulated data to the timing controller if the difference between the input data inputted in the N-th frame period and the data of the (N-1)-th frame is two gradation or more. An overdrive controller supplies the input data to the timing controller if the difference is two gray or less. The overdrive controller converts the lowermost bit of the data stored in the memory according to the modulation of the data.
