The invention relates to an electric organic component and a method for the production thereof. The component comprises a substrate, a first electrode, a first electrically semiconducting layer on the first electrode, an organic functional layer on the first electrically semiconducting layer, and a second electrode on the organic functional layer. The first or the second electrode can be arranged on the substrate. The electrically semiconducting layer is doped with a dopant material which comprises rhenium compounds.
