PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a driver from having a sense of discomfort or a sense of incongruity due to the occurrence of a downshift on a downhill or the like in a constant speed travel control device for a vehicle provided with an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: When a vehicle is in an accelerating state and a driver seems to have no intention of accelerating in the case the deviation VCCerr between vehicle speed V and target vehicle speed VCCtgt exceeds brake start determination vehicle speed deviation VBKS, a brake actuator is put in action to reduce speed before executing the downshift. |
