<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which location of an optical writing device above an optical writing device in a conventional image forming apparatus with no exhaust duct is suppressed, and which can efficiently discharge heated air in a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: In a shape of a cross section of an exhaust heat duct for discharging heated air in each process cartridge in a normal direction of an image carrier, a horizontal length is made larger relatively to a vertical length, whereby the height of the exhaust heat duct is limited and an exhaust heat duct can be obtained having such a cross-section area as to suck heated air in an amount enough to lower the internal temperature of the process cartridge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
