PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum method or the like for automatic collection and edition of video content retained in respective information devices.

SOLUTION: The managing method of content of respective information devices, which is carried out by a server connected to a plurality of information devices storing multiple pieces of content evaluated with respect to at least one characteristic through a home network, includes a characteristic evaluation collecting step which collects the characteristic evaluations of respective pieces of content from a plurality of information devices, a characteristic evaluation memory step which stores the collected characteristic evaluations, a content selecting step which selects the content having a characteristic evaluation suitable for the demand by detecting the stored characteristic point evaluation and a content existence information informing step which informs the existence information of selected content to the information devices.
