<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rolled paper loading unit and an image forming apparatus which enable an operator to appropriately carry out loading of rolled paper without causing slack etc. of a winding state while eliminating the troublesome for the operator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rolled paper loading unit 2 includes: a holder section 21 which supports the rolled paper P wound in a cylindrical form; a rolled paper loading section 22 in which the rolled paper P in the state of being supported by the holder section 21 is loaded; a paper guiding section 23 which is oscillatably disposed between an evading position where loading of the holder section 21 and the rolled paper P to the rolled paper loading section 22 is not blocked and a retaining position coming in contact with the outer periphery of the rolled paper P in the state of being loaded in the rolled paper loading section 22; and an interlock mechanism section 24 which oscillates the paper guiding section 23 in conjunction with loading and unloading of the holder section 21 and the rolled paper P to and from the rolled paper loading section 22.
