<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplant material originated in the same species to be used for treating corneal damage. <P>SOLUTION: A method for making sclera transparent includes a (a) step for dehydrating sclera tissues isolated from an animal donor and a (b) step for applying crosslinking processing to the sclera tissues from the step (a), and the sclera tissues are made transparent by the method. The tissue is made transparent by using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC), 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride/N-hydroxy succinimide (EDC/NHS), glutaraldehyde, or paraformaldehyde to apply the crosslinking processing by ultraviolet radiation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
