<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden for cleaning the back side of a moving handrail mounted on a parapet of an escalator system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The moving handrail back side cleaning tool 40 includes a pair of right and left gripping rods 44, 42 which can be gripped by right and left hands of a worker; several flexible guide wires 46 connected and disposed between the pair of the right and left gripping rods 44, 42, and inserted between the parapet provided with the moving handrail and the moving handrail; and cleaning brushes 48 disposed at centers in the longitudinal direction of the guide wires 46. Each guide wire 46 is composed of a plurality of strand wires twisted each other, and the cleaning brush 48 includes a brush bristle 52 with tips turned in all directions while being entangled in the twist 50 of the guide wire 46.
