PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe body hanging gripping device capable of hanging a pipe body by using a simple cylinder device, and capable of coping even with a plurality of kinds of pipe bodies different in the pipe length. SOLUTION: This pipe body hanging gripping device is composed of a support stand 12 substantially horizontally held and suspended from hanging heavy machinery, a pair of gripping hook members 14 arranged on both sides of the support stand 12 and rotating around a rotary shaft member 13, and a pair of cylinder devices 15 fixed to an upper surface of the support stand 12 and controlling the rotational movement of the gripping hook members 14. A through-support part 16 of a plurality of rotary shaft members 13 symmetrically arranged by sandwiching a central part, and a fixing support part 17 of a plurality of cylinder devices 15, are arranged in advance in the support stand 12. A set of through-support parts 16 and the fixing support part 17 are selected in response to the length of the gripping pipe body 11, and the rotary shaft member 13 and the cylinder device 15 are installed, and the pair of gripping hook members 14 are respectively rotatably connected to the installed rotary shaft member 13 and the cylinder device 15.
