PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device, such as a liquid crystal display device, in which loads on respective components are reduced with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The color display device 10 includes an image processor 12, a drive control unit 14, and a display unit 16, and pixels of the display unit each include three auxiliary color sub-pixels in addition to three primary color sub-pixels. The color display device 10 scans a line of the primary color sub-pixels as one repetitive unit and also scans a line of the auxiliary color sub-pixels as another repetitive unit to display image data 20 on the display unit 16.
