PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a random number generator which is configured so that random number values to be generated are monitored, and to provide a game machine having the random number generator. SOLUTION: The random number generator 120 mounted on a slot machine is composed of: a random number generating circuit 400; superordinate and subordinate current random number value buffer circuits 411 and 421; first superordinate and subordinate previous random number value buffer circuits 412 and 422; second superordinate and subordinate previous random number value buffer circuits 413 and 423; superordinate and subordinate random number value comparator circuits 415 and 425 for comparing current random number values with previous ones; a random number equivalence counter circuit 430 for storing the number of times when the random number values match continuous designation; a random number equivalence counter clear circuit 440 for clearing the number of times of the random number equivalence counter circuit 430; and a flag register circuit 450 for outputting an equivalence detection signal when the random number equivalence counter circuit 430 has reached the prescribed number of times.
