PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing a large die member which has a fine uneven structure thereon, and to provide such a die member. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the die member includes the steps of: arranging a plated film on a base material with electroless Ni-P plating treatment; and forming a plated layer having the uneven structure by cutting the plated film. The manufacturing method also includes controlling a value of (phosphorus element wt.%)/(nickel element wt.%) in a plating solution to a range of 4 to 7 in the electroless Ni-P metal plating treatment.
