摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure durability even when a rotor is used repeatedly with high damping force for a long term while reducing the thrust load at the bearing portion of a rotating shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An eddy current reduction gear includes a rotor 1 connected with the rotating shaft 3 while having a disk-like damping member and fixed to a non-rotating portion, and a plurality of magnets 4 which are held by a holding member 5 fixed to the non-rotating portion and arranged such that the pole face faces the damping member and the adjoining magnetic poles turn reversely. A nonmagnetic material 1b consisting of copper or a copper alloy is provided at a part of the damping member where magnetic force of the magnet 4 acts, a protective material 1c is provided on the surface side of the nonmagnetic material 1b facing the magnet 4, and a ferromagnetic material 1a is provided on the backside of the nonmagnetic material 1b, i.e. the side opposite to the magnet 4. The nonmagnetic material 1b and the ferromagnetic material 1a are bonded directly by mutual diffusion of atoms. Consequently, the thrust load is reduced at the bearing portion of the rotating shaft, and durability of the rotor can be ensured even when used repeatedly with high damping force for a long term.
