A device for determining the amount of at least one oxidizable ingredient in an aqueous liquid sample, comprising a high temperature reactor for digesting the liquid sample and forming a gas mixture containing at least ingredient as a gaseous oxide, wherein the high temperature reactor comprises a liquid inlet for feeding the liquid sample and a gas inlet for feeding a carrier gas, said reactor being connected to an analysis chamber through a gas outlet, wherein the analysis chamber is installed ahead of a condensation unit for condensing water from the gas mixture, wherein during operation of the device a gas stream of the carrier gas forms together with the gas mixture from the high temperature reactor through the gas outlet and the condensation unit to the analysis chamber, wherein a heatable filter unit is installed between the gas outlet and the condensation unit for removing salts and/or metal oxides from the gas mixture, and the gas outlet, the filter unit and optionally connection elements disposed between the gas outlet and the filter unit are thermally insulated and/or equipped with heating elements such that the temperature thereof can be adjusted to more than 100°C during operation of the device. |
