The folding top (2) has a closing device arranged on a front hoop (7) of the folding top, for fixing of the closed folding top on a fixed structure of a motor vehicle (1). A folding top structure (3) is movably supported, where the folding top is lockably retained in a rear-side storage position by an additional locking device arranged at the front hoop. The locking device is connected with the closing device, and is provided with a locking hook, which is movable in a vertical hood longitudinal plane or in a horizontal hood plane.
