<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal processing device for shaping a waveform of an optical signal and suppressing noise without being affected by the input power of signal light. <P>SOLUTION: Signal light, exciting light and control light having different wavelengths are input to a nonlinear optical medium 1. The power of the exciting light is controlled to generate a desired gain in the nonlinear optical medium 1.
