An optical voltage sensor is provided with: polarization optical systems (15, 16), which are arranged vertical to an optical axis of light incoming from a light source (12), with the optical axis as the center axis, and polarizes incoming light to a predetermined reference state; an electro-optical element (17), which is arranged vertical to the optical axis with the optical axis as the center axis, and polarizes light which has been polarized by the polarization optical systems (15, 16), corresponding to a voltage applied when the voltage to be measured is applied; and an analyzer (18), which is arranged vertical to the optical axis, with the optical axis as the center axis, detects light which has been polarized by the electro-optical element (17), and irradiates a detector (21), which converts incoming optical signals into electric signals, with light.
