Provided is a head-restraining airbag system wherein interference with a pillar portion is prevented at the time of deployment by a simple constitution. The head-restraining airbag system (100) comprises an airbag (110) provided to extend from the front to the back of at least one pillar (5) and fixed to the body at a plurality of points along the roof side (3) of the vehicle so as to be deployed in the shape of a curtain when gas for deployment is introduced, and an inflator (120) which introduces gas for deployment into the airbag, wherein the airbag comprises a chamber (111) that is arranged at a position where the chamber overlaps the pillar in the width direction of the vehicle at the time of deployment and restrains the head of an occupant, a gas inlet (113) connected with the gas inflator and introducing gas for deployment, a gas introduction passage (114) which guides the gas for deployment introduced from the gas inlet to the chamber and extends along the roof side, and an expansion portion (115) which is formed by enlarging the gas introduction passage between the gas inlet and the pillar, housed between the inner wall of the body and the chamber folded at least partially before the airbag is deployed, and expanded when the airbag is deployed to push the chamber to the inside of the compartment. |
