In a heliostat that moves a receptor (2) in a required manner in relation to movement of the sun, which includes a base (3), a column (4) rising from the base (3) carrying a receptor (2) at its upper end (5) and the base (3) containing a mechanism that turns the base (3) and column (4) in azimuth in relation to the sun, the mechanism is characterized by a gear train that includes a Geneva mechanism and a one tooth differential epicyclic gear train in order to obtain a very large reduction ratio. A first one tooth differential epicyclic gear train may be ganged with a second one tooth differential epicyclic gear train which is driven by the output of the first gear train. In this case the reduction ratio may be selected large enough to obviate use of the Geneva wheel (30).
|
