FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: device has generator, eddy-current resonance converter, digital storage unit, analog-to-digital converter, and indicator. Generator frequency control unit introduced into device compensates for reduction of output signal amplitude of eddy-current converter due to time and temperature variations of resonance circuit quality factor. Device also includes analog storage unit, reference level setting unit, unbalance amplifier, and generator amplitude control unit which allows compensation of supply voltage variation.
