SIDE VIEW LED PACKAGE WITH ITS LIGHTING AREA EXPANDED

PURPOSE: A side view type LED package is provided to improve light efficiency through the expansion of the light emitting area by increasing the length part of the upper side of the cavity and decreasing the length part of the lower side of the cavity. CONSTITUTION: A housing(110) includes a cavity(111) for receiving a sealant and an LED chip(101). The cavity is slantingly extended to a second length part of an upper side larger than a first length part of a lower side. A first inner lead(112a) and a second inner lead(112b) is divided into the exposed part positioned in the cavity by the first length part and the covered part positioned in the outside of the cavity. A first outer lead(114a) and a second outer lead(114b) are vertically extended to the outside of the housing from the covered part of the first and second inner leads. The second length part is extended to the first and second outer leads.
