<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and accurately perform inspection of an image display device having a number of pixel electrodes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An inspection device comprises a control part 10 for selecting a plurality of row-direction wirings and a plurality of column-direction wirings respectively from a plurality of row-direction wirings and a plurality of column-direction wirings on a pixel substrate 80, and performs a luminance characteristic inspection of pixel electrodes connected to an intersection of the selected plurality of the row-direction wirings and the selected plurality of the column-direction wirings by measuring an effective value of a pixel drive signal that flows by applying a pixel drive voltage to the selected plurality of the row-direction wirings and the selected plurality of the column-direction wirings simultaneously.
