<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make press fitting equipment for attaching a friction damper to a transmission unnecessary and facilitating an attachment process by avoiding metal contact of a core metal and a gear shaft or a gear, and avoid a rolling surface from being roughened by preventing formation of foreign matter during attachment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a transmission having the friction damper 5 inserted between the gear shaft 2 and the gear 4 relatively rotatably retained by the gear shaft 2 and a bearing 3, the friction damper 5 is composed of an elastic body 50 and has the core metal 54 inserted in the elastic body 50.
