<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of electric rotating machine which allows a good magnetic circuit to be formed and a coil to be wound easily and which can be easily formed in annular shape and can reduce the part count. <P>SOLUTION: Each core segment 13 having an arcuate portion 13a and one of teeth 7 is formed by stacking first stack members and second stack members alternately. The stator 1 is composed in such a way that the core segments 13 are annularly arranged to form a stator core 6 and each of the teeth 7 is wound with winding 5 thereon through an insulator 4. One end in a circumferential direction corresponding to the arcuate portion 13a in the each first stack member is provided with a convex arcuate part and another end in the circumferential direction is provided with a concave arcuate part. The convex arcuate part and the concave arcuate part of each first stack member and those of each second stack member are reversely arranged in the circumferential direction. The convex arcuate parts of adjacent core segments 13 are arranged, overlapping mutually in an axial direction. Each insulator 4 has coupling portions 22 at positions corresponding to the circumferential ends of the arcuate portion 13a.
