PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of handling two types of rolled paper with a simple structure and easily switching the rolled paper to be used. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a paper holding shaft 107 which is inserted into a paper tube of a first rolled paper (for example, label paper) and holds the first rolled paper. The first rolled paper held by the paper holding shaft 107 is drawn from the upper position thereof, guided along a predetermined guide route 111, and printed by a printing unit 108 on the way. A paper support 151 for holding a second rolled paper (for example, receipt paper 21) having a smaller diameter than the first rolled paper is detachably mounted on the paper holding shaft 107. The second rolled paper held by the paper support 151 is drawn into the guide route 111, guided along the guide route 111, and printed by the printing unit 108 on the way.
